We made our way to the Kokonut Hut on Anna Maria Island. Being St. Patrick's Day, we were adorned by the staff in stylish yet sophisticated green Bud Light Necklaces. We then ordered a pair of green margaritas and sat under our own private cabana. We sat there for quite some time watching the waves and talking. Well, I talked. But she did a really great job of listening. Open container laws-be-damned, we began walking down along the waves as is expected during any beach date. As we returned to our starting point, we saw a beach wedding. And long before we saw this ostentatious event we heard the shrill, melodic tones of the bagpipe that accompanied this pomp and circumstance. Next, we took a drive down memory lane. It was actually 75th St. West and then a left on 17th Ave. Northwest. We passed Sara's childhood home and the elementary school that help to mold her into the fine woman she is today. Being her first trip back in a while I thought she might like to see her old stomping grounds. Then came the event we were really looking forward to the entire evening: the pizza buffet. Fire & Stone helped me find my soulmate and always provides a delicious after-pizza ice cream treat. Despite this frozen dairy delight, we then made our way to Publix to feast on the Easter candy that was just beginning to make it to shelves. She had her Cadbury creme eggs and I my Cadbury solid mini eggs. We somehow resisted the sweet siren call of the tiramisu beckoning us from the bakery. Perhaps it was all of the pizza greases that kept us in check. We concluded the night with my first viewing of one of her favorites: The Graduate. Did I expect to see her again? Was this to be the first of the rest? All I hoped was that the song from the movie was more of a prediction than just pretty words. April Come She Will. and luckily for me, she stayed.
